I’ve always wished my life to be like this…
I find that, when writing bios, it’s really helpful to look at a list or a chart like the one above. Picking two or three traits from each chart and building a character based around them will give you a really interesting bio, because they will serve as a reminder that characters need depth and dimension.
Independent and clever.
VS.
Independent, clever, pretentious, and stubborn.
The first combination doesn’t come with any flaws, whereas the second will provide a more dynamic character.
I don’t have anything against Paramore, I just don’t listen to them anymore, but…
Jenna McDougall/Tonight Alive is not Hayley Williams/Paramore.
Sierra Kusterbeck/VersaEmerge is not Hayley Williams/Paramore.
Tay Jardine/We Are The In Crowd is not Hayley Williams/Paramore.
They are individual people, in individual bands, with their own individual voices. That goes for every band with female members/vocalists (those are just the comparisons I hear the most often).
I hate it when people say “they’re just trying to be Paramore”. Really?! Why, just because both bands have a female vocalist they’re automatically exactly the same and therefore not worthy of respect?There are so many male vocalists that sound similar and you never hear anything about them. Every person, man or woman, has a different voice. Just because a band’s singer is female does not mean she sounds like Hayley Williams. Hayley has a fairly distinct voice anyway. Bands work as hard as they do to make a name for themselves, if they were seriously trying to mimic Paramore they wouldn’t get anywhere.

Besides, I think, Paramore/Hayley doesn’t quite sound the same as before anymore.
but why are we even talking about justin bieber and selena gomez kissing at the billboard music awards
when we could be talking about the hilarious way that taylor swift visibly wretched when she saw it happen?????
